Greetings everyone,
My 4 leghorns and 1 buff orp all started their first molt the very end of last year when the December/January cold spell kicked in here in CA. So, since the beginning of the year they've all been showing various degrees of bare butts, bare thighs, and bare backsides down near their tails.
Everything seemed fine at first, but now it's the middle of July and not a whole lot has changed. I've been watching them closely and I'm not seeing any signs of picking. Not even a tease. When the weather began to warm around April I expected to see some feathers starting coming in - but so far I'm still waiting.
Is this normal to have such scruffy looking girls this late in the year?
Brett
