How long does this last?

So we have had our girls for 1 & 2 years (Buff Orpingtons 1-yr, Golden Comets -2). We have 10 girls. For the last three weeks we have been getting 3-5 eggs a day. This is way-y-y-y under our regular production! There are feathers in their area but none of them looks anything like the photo of the molting chicken I saw on one of the threads.

How long should we expect this reduction to last? Any ideas?

It depends on if you have fast molters or slow molters.
It could last anywhere from a month to many months. Even after they've regrown their new down coat, they may wait till after the winter solstice to lay again.

Mine will stop about now and not lay again until February or March.

Thanks, I think. I guess what you are saying is that they will pay again when they lay again.
