I have a 5 year old chicken who jumped off a step in a food frenzy and injured her leg. This happened about 10 days ago. We brought her to a vet who told us the leg wasn't broken but really not much more. So at this point I'm assuming she has a bad sprain. We caged her inside for 7 days but now she is back outside with her two chicken friends. The leg is still swollen a bit. She gets around with a moderate limp, eats, drinks normally and hangs with her buds. She sits a lot more than she used to. I also noticed her poos can range from normal to watery. Should I take her to a second vet for a follow-up or give it more time? She is our favorite hen and I am so worried about her. I have absolutely no experience with this type of injury and I don't like to think my inexperience could be causing unnecessary suffering.

Depending on how bad the sprain is, it could take a few weeks, or more for it to heal up.
