How long for new roo

Hi another newbie question. Right now I have 6 hens that have been laying almost a year.

First question is I am in the process of getting a rooster for them, how long will it take to start getting fertile eggs?

Second question, one hen has gone broody, will she continue to be this way if I don't break her of it? I was kind of hoping that by the time I get some fertile eggs she would sit on them.

I don't know the answer. My chickens are only 10 and 11 weeks old. Just giving you a bump up

Eggs should be fertile after he has been with them for just a few days.

However when you bring new chickens home, you should quarantine them for at least 30 days to keep disease from transferring to your hens.
