How long should i let them sit?

I have 3 mallards girls sitting on fake eggs because I do not need more babies. How long should I let them sit?

If you don't want babies then break them. Being broody takes a toll on the hens wellbeing and it's pointless if they won't hatch anything. Take away the fake eggs, destroy the nest, and if they still return to the nesting sites block it off. If you let them sit they may sit for the 28 days and longer which can cause health problems. They are also easy pickings for predators if they are not sitting in a protected coop or run.

Just take the eggs and break up the nests. It will still take some time for hormones to get back to normal but it will happen. I have 2 Muscovy that have been brooding on nothing for a couple months, One finally gave up yesterday, still cranky but at least she is done.
I make sure my girls come out at least 1X a day to eat and wash but they usually come out 2X

Good advise. My problem with the scovies is they are nesting in the coop where my chickens have their nest boxes plus if you have never had muscovy you have no idea how hard it is to break them, They will hang on the hardware wire all day long if you close them out, so I just make sure they are taking care of themselves while they are obsessed with sitting lol
