How long should i wait for the brooder

How long should I wait to place the chick in the brooder. Im assuming until its fully dry.

It depends if you have other chicks hatching. If there are other chicks that are going to hatch, leave the chick in the incubator. If you open the lid, it can reduce the humidity and cause the others not to hatch. I learned that one the hard way and lost a chick that way. If that's the only chick that is and will be hatching, you can wait until the chick is fully dry before putting it in the brooder. There's no rush to put them in there. They absorb the yolk for up to 72 hours and will be fine if you let them dry off in the incubator.
