How long should I wait to put eggs under a hen?

Weather has been 30's at night and low 60's during the day. I was really hoping they would take When I tried incubating her eggs they'd get to day 12ish and quit. So maybe there is something wrong with her eggs

it's a little to chilly for mine in FL to go broody, its 85*F with 60's*f at night- if the weather shifts suddenly I stand a good chance of needing the incubator

Well this time I moved her into the rabbit run after I saw her sitting on the eggs again. It's 8ft by 2ft run inside the coop. She's much happier and still hasn't moved.

I just started leaving eggs in the nest and actually added about 5 golf balls , my chick sat on them and laid a few more eggs but then stopped sitting on them and was sleeping on the roost. do i pull the eggs now? how do i get them to start sitting on them, i was going to try to leave eggs in the nest but i dont know how long i should wait before i start picking up the eggs.

Unfortunately they will choose when they want to go broody. This is the first broody so maybe someone else has some more tips.

i have a broody shes been broody for 2 weeks. i decided to let her set on 6 eggs this past monday she bounced around to different nestboxes a couple days . i collect eggs daily so she gets mad when i put her back on the marked eggs but i think she is confined to that nest now.

This morning she was in a different box, so I just scooped her up and put her back in the cage. My meaties forced the cage door open to get to her food. They're such fatties.
