how long till eggs?

I have 5 RIR'S that suppose to be 23 weeks now. If the guy told me the truth when I got them about 2 months ago. They are big and I have not got the first egg yet. When should I might expect the first egg? Also I built a coop for them and make two boxes in the coop for egg laying. How might I get to lay in them when time comes? I put a golf ball in each one. Will that help? thanks
