My first hen to lay eggs is a Barred Rock. I got my first egg on Sept 1st and she has layed an egg each day since. But they are all very small eggs. How long before I can expect to get full sized eggs?

She might just lay small eggs. From my experience, the first one is small, and the rest are their usual size.

My girls tend to lay varying sizes but now that Ethel has been laying a month, they seem to all be ex large sized eggs. I think it depends on the bird. Her eggs prior ranged from small and if they were large they were double Yolkers. I think they need to mature in their laying for a bit.

As I recall, by the time a hen is full sized (maybe a year?).

But the good news: they continue to get larger as the hen ages.

It can take from a few weeks to many months for pullet eggs to get larger.
