Hello fellow chicken lovers! My Frenchy had a bad case of the bumble foot. She was very lame! I lanced and drained the abscesses using the step by step photo instructions I found on here. Soaked and bandaged it for a couple weeks. It has now been about three weeks. She is much better! Not lame anymore and abscesses almost closed. Man those took forever to close they were huge holes! She is still not laying eggs??? She stopped when she got really sore and has never produced any more. She is a year old EE. Have any of you had this problem?

Stressed or ill chickens do not usually lay eggs. Also as the days shorten, many will take a winter break (unless you are artificially lighting your hen house). So IF your bird is healthy again and not stressed- you may see eggs 2-3 weeks after her ordeal, unless she is taking a break due to shortening days- then you may need to wait until spring, or light your coop....
