How long to feed medicated chick starter/grower crumbles?

So my three chicks are about 1.5 weeks old now, and I have been feeding them a mixture of the medicated chick feed and regular chick feed (2 bags of both mixed). One of the employees at the feed store recommended this as the medicated feed is quite concentrated according to him, so it was OK to feed a mixture.

So do you keep on feeding the medicated feed until they are off chick starter for good? Or is there a point where they don't need it and are safe once their immune systems are strong enough?

I personally don't feed medicated at all, since they don't really need it. It's good insurance against coccidiosis, but I haven't run into a problem with it yet. It's more of a personal preference than a necessity, so if you feel comfortable stopping the medicated feed, go ahead and stop Otherwise you can feed it to them until they switch to layer, it won't hurt them.
