My first time hatching a duck egg. I know ducks take 28 days to hatch and today is day 28. So far nothing is happening. I placed this egg in the bator at the same time as my chicken eggs. They all hatched on time last weekend. So, what's the longest I should wait? It's not that I mind waiting it's just that the bator is getting smelly from the left over chick shells. Next time I'll make sure duck goes in a week before chicken. Not the other way around. Thanks

I thought it was 31 days ????? I would give it time I had chickens hatch late they should hatch at 21 days but I had two hatch 27 and 28 days and both survived so if chickens can take longer then so might Ducks. DOn;t do anything just yet be patient.

Day 28 is like chickens day 21.... They can hatch before or after that date so I would say wait a few more days... Or candle and see if you can see it broken into the aircell.

I don't know what type of duck. I got it from a local nursery who let me take some fertile eggs so I could compare my hatch rate to e-bay eggs. Didn't even realise it was a duck egg until I placed it in the bator.

I have an Appleyard over due by 3 days ,Day 31 is this normal. I have tried candling to see if the little one is alive. Too difficult? Anything else I can do?
