Hey. I was wondering how long it takes from when a chicken goes into her nesting box and comes out to lay an egg.

It depends on the chicken and how large her egg is.Hey. I was wondering how long it takes from when a chicken goes into her nesting box and comes out to lay an egg.
I think mine has been in there for an hour by now lolIt depends on the chicken and how large her egg is.
I have some that are in and out in about 20-30 minutes. Others that take almost an hour, sometimes more.
Mine definitely like to loungeSome will go in, drop the egg, and be on their way.
Others like to 'lounge' before and after laying the egg.
Let’s hope she’s quick!No set time.
How ever long she feels like taking.
Don't worry about it too much. If she's in there for hours and starts panting, it could mean she is laying a whopper of an egg or trying to pass a softie. Both of those take a lot of effort. One means you should be monitoring her more closely for a few days.I think mine has been in there for an hour by now lol
