Hello and Good Morning!
I've had two chicks hatch early(day 20)and was wondering if leaving them in the bator for around 30 hours or so would be ok?
I have 5 eggs that have pipped and am trying to avoid opening the bator. Thanks

Joe

Leave them in there. They will be fine. It actually does them good to rest in there for a day or so. Chicks that have had extra time in my hatcher are always stronger than the ones I take out earlier, so I'm happy to leave chicks in there until the hatch is done or at least until I don't see any pips in the eggs that are left. Plus, their peeping encourages the unhatched chicks.

I'd say that it depends on the number of chicks. I can home yesterday to 9 of them packed in so tight that they could barely move. Off to the brooder they went.

I'm so glad someone asked the question I just had one hatched and can see others pipping woohoo
