How long to leave eggs under broody, after one has hatched?

Little only-child chick on day 23. Guess that’s all we’re getting. I’m going to candle the eggs before I discard them today. Although I don’t really know what I’m looking for ..!?
I water floated my last batch at day 25 after none had hatched, and all but one read viable.. so that didn’t help me much!
I’ll use the toarch this time...

why not let your broody decide? She'll abandon them if she thinks there's no hope.

This is only my second attempt at hatching eggs under a broody hen - with the first attempt resulting in a disappointing 0% hatch rate..!

So this time, early early on day 21 I was thrilled to discover a little Old Cotswold Legbar emerging from it's shell.

Day 22 now - and nothing from the other eggs... ( they came via the post, so always going to be risky.. I guess?)

What would you do now? Give it another day? Candle them? And if so, what I'm I even looking for if candling?!
When will the broody decide it time for the other chick to eat and drink?- so far she's sittin' tight.

I was hoping for more than one! But tbh after having zero last time, this is a great success, lol!

I just hatched my first egg. I had put seven eggs in the clutch and only one has hatched so far. but it’s been 24 hours since coming out and I’m not sure anymore are coming. Thank you for your post, it answered a lot of my questions. Also made me feel a bit better knowing other people struggled with their first hatching as well and it wasn’t just me. Lol
