Hi Folks,
How long do I keep chickens in quarantine if watching for signs of Marek’s? Or, gulp, do I just cull them all?
I’ve got a small backyard flock and had a chicken die with leg paralysis and lethargy. I’m suspecting Marek’s because the older hens are vaccinated, but I let one of my broody hens hatch chicks that are not. The chick was 12 weeks old, and I separated her immediately to try and nurse her to health (not knowing what I was dealing with)
I’m awaiting the necropsy report from the state to confirm. It’s so sad. How long do I wait to see if any symptoms form in the 4 other chicks?

Hopefully damage control kept it to a minimum. I didn’t even know they could possibly catch it from the ground or wild birds. I thought we were safe. Trying not to freak out.
