Set 17 eggs last Saturday. I candled them today, one was clear, some seemed to be growing, some I'm not sure about, none seemed obviously bad. (First time candling, fwiw). However, one of them I'm nt sure about. It is from an Easter egger so pretty hard to see through. Pretty sure I saw some veins, but may also have seen a blood ring. This was with a flashlight on each end, I couldn't see anything but the air cell with only one light. I only have four EE eggs in there so I don't want to remove it if its good, but don't want it exploding either! How long would you leave it? No pics, couldn't get them to show anything.

Candle them again on day 10. If it is viable you should be able to see some good veining by then.

Will t be easier to see even with the dark shell? I'm confident I saw some veins today, would they degrade by then if the chick has died? Or would I still see them? Any tips on checking dark eggs?

When the shell is too dark or colored to see well, I take my chances. Keep it til it stinks or hatches!!! I've not had an exploder yet. Be sure and mark it so if you open your bator to a funky smell, you will know the likely culprit
