How long to wait until eating eggs?

We finished giving my hen her cold medication- Tylan 50 cattle medicine 9 days ago. She layed her first egg after the treatment 8 days ago. How much longer should we wait until eating her eggs? Another four days? I've heard two weeks...

I suggest you call your Vet and ask about the drug. If it is designed for Cattle it may have effects on poultry that you are not aware of.

Thanks: It was suggested by all the people on here, and can be used for poultry too. So I'm pretty sure it's safe

Tylan 50,

• 1/2 cc in breast for 3 consecutive days for adult sized birds.
• 1/4 cc in breast for 3 consecutive days for bantam sized birds.

There is a one (1) week withdraw on the use of Tylan injectable with poultry.


On a side note chickens don't get colds as we do.
