How long to wait?!!

Can anyone tell me how long it should take for my duck to break through the shell once he has gotten into the aircell? I think it broke into it this morning (I could tell around 6am) and has been working all day to try and pip though the shell unsuccessfully so far. How long should I wait before trying to help him out?

You shoudnt help unless you really have to.
They can take up to 24 hours to pip externaly after piping internally from what I have read then they can take another 24 hours or so from external pip to zipping and or hatching.
Hopefully someone that knows ducks will help soon good luck

Thanks! We are very excited to meet our new baby! The egg is bouncing all over the place and I can hear him tapping on the shell. Hopefully we will get to meet our new addition soon!
