How long until ducks tame?

I been bought two Muscovy ducks from a live poultry butcher shop on Sunday. However these two ducks are very scared of people. They are currently in my backyard coop. I have a security camera inside so I can watch them while I'm at work.

My plan is to let them stay inside the coop for a month until they know that is their home. Then I will let them free range in my backyard during the day. Is this a good plan?

I placed my hand inside holding mealworms but they just went to a corner in fear. I left a waterer inside available all day. I'm withholding the feed for only a specific time so they can associate me as food.

How long until they eat out of my hand and when will they like to be hugged?

They are older so they will probably never want hugs...You will need to clip wings so they don't fly away....Spend lots of time sitting and talking with them...It will take weeks of consistency and patience....

Ducks are not like geese or chickens once they are skiddish they always will be I recently put mine away from my geese because there scaring my geese with their skiddishness

Yes I thought so too.

My ducks will hopefully eat from my hand if I remove the feeder from the coop for two days or so.

Eating out of your hand possibly will never happen....Getting Ducklings is easier when taming....The more time you spend with them the easier it is....
