How long until I can turn loose in the run?

I just got my first chickens/ducks today and put them in the coop when I got home to let them get used to it. How long should I make them stay in there before letting them out into the run?

I'm not sure about ducks but I have heard you should keep chickens in the coop for two weeks, that way they know it's their home then you can turn them out into then run.

I'm not familiar with ducks either, but if the run is attached, you could let the chickens out right away.

ok, thanks. So, it would be fine to let them into the run just not out into the yard to forage?

Since my run is attached, that's what I do. I give it a couple of weeks before I let them free range.
