I have 10 month old hens that have been laying since March and a 16 week old Buff Orpington cockerel that has been mating with them as much as he can for about a week or so. I would like to try hatching the eggs eventually and we will be buying an incubator soon. How old should he be before it would be worth it to try hatching.
I know most animals have lower fertility when they are young. Or is this not the case with cockerels?
Thanks and I soon hope to see this
