How long until my eggs are fertilized?

Just added a adult rooster to my flock of 7 soon to be 10 hens (my pullet chicks are still too young to add to the mix) my aunt doesn't like roosters so she gave me a big Rhode Island red rooster that she was mistakenly given as a chick last year when she got her new batch of chicks in. I put him in the coop yesterday and he immediately got down to business with several of my hens. How long until the eggs they are laying are considered fertilized? Is it the next day? Or will it be a couple days down the line?

By day 3 after introduction the eggs of any hens that he has bred should be fertile. Eggs from day 1 and 2 were already 'in process' and most likely will not be fertile.
