How long until the effect of new lighting takes effect?

  1. We live in the northeast where days are getting shorter and the temps are getting colder. After reading posts on the effect of light on egg production we decided to add a light to our coop. The light is a grow light (natural spectrum) and covers the interior of the coop well.

Our 3 hens had slowed down their production from 18 eggs a week to 8-10 before the lighting change.

How long will it take for them to go back to laying regularly now that they have light from 6am to 9pm?

    Thanks in advance!
