Yup, sounds about right. I've only got 5 (1 hen who was laying until a couple weeks ago, and 4 pullets). They're locked in their predator proof run while we're at work, but the "free range" in a 30' x 50' fenced area in the evenings and on the weekends. They also get some scraps or scratch every couple days or so.
It takes a good two months for me to get through a bag.
If I start to get food "dust" ie the crumbles or pellets have broken down I scoop it out and put it in a dog dish that I can add some warm water too. They seem to like it more than their dry food, but I can't be bothered to soak it every day.
