How long will a broody hen sit

On eggs. I have two that went broody on dummy and eggs that weren't fertile but i have viable eggs under them now. Im just worried they may get off of them. Im sure it varieswith each hen, but generally estimating anyone know? ?

i think some one told me that the hens dont know how long it takes to hatch the eggs they just sit on them tell they hatch. i have a d,uccle that has been sitting for three days and im going to put eggs under her today

The hen will sit as long as she has a comfortable place to hatch,but soem for some odd reason,get uninterested.And the hens just don’t sit.Adventually,they will get up,they know when it’s been too long.
