How long will broody hen sit??

Does anyone know how long a hen will stay broody? I bought some
eggs to put under one of my hens thats been broody for about a month
now. I want to make sure she'll stay on them until/if they hatch.

Some have been know to stary on an empty nest for several months. Give her the eggs she will most likely stay put and raise some nice babies for you. The problem with broodies I have found they sometimes have a hard time settleing in and may leave early on. In your case it sound like your girl is entrenched.

i agree just put some eggs under her she will set them good luck

I have one white silkie that has been broody since early April. She is four years old and gas hatched many chicks, very few are hers. To keep her broody I place a plastic egg in her nest if I don't have any eggs for her to sit on. She come out two or three times a day to eat and drink and poop. Then it is right back to the nest.
