How Long Will Chickens Lay?

My base flock are 5-6 years and still lay every day or every other day in peak season. I kill any that don't lay that often and I check yearly for laying, so anyone who makes the cut stays here...I have 11 of the original flock of 20 bought that year as chicks. Husbandry methods and general flock management can help your flock have more longevity of lay and it helps if you start with great laying breeds at the beginning.

I have four chickens all around 5 or 6 years old and during the summer months they average around 3 eggs a day but varies from 2 to 4, during the cooler months they only average 2 per day. I live in a subtropical area where the coldest night of the year is about 5 degrees celcius and it is warm enough to let them free range in the garden all year round during daytime. When they were younger we got an egg a day per chicken all year round and they didn't slow down until last year. I would like to know how long they would be expected to live in these conditions.
