How long will it take for them to learn to go up or down the ramp?!!!

my chicks before was able to go down to the ramp after 3 weeks... they rapidly learn as they sees it on some older breed I got at home.

Is the ramp really steep? They often have more trouble with a steep incline, at least at first. They can have trouble sliding, too, which can scare them. Is there anything for them to grip as they walk on it? Did you paint it a scary color???

I'm just teasing on that last one. They can be so freaked out about some things. As you continue working with them, make sure to let them watch you touch the ramp with your hands for a minute. Rest your hand on it, run your hand along it, rap it with your knuckle, that kind of thing. I'd keep putting the food on the ramp, too. They might go out on their own, if you give them a day or two to think about it.

To the OP - congrats on getting them to go in by themselves - how exactly did you do it? I'm having the same issue. My bantams are 8 weeks old and have no problem whatsoever going down the ramp (or flapping down without the ramp) but are terrified of going up. It's not too steep, but I can't make it any less than it is. Here is a pic of the ramp (don't worry, their run is actually much bigger, as it extends underneath and behind the coop).
