Ok. So one egg has been internally pipped since yesterday morn. Maybe even since Saturday. But when should I consider helping the chick. It has not yet externally pipped yet.
Thanks!

I'd give it a few days, I thought I had a dead egg and was considering throwing it out after not hearing anything for a couple days, then I checked it and it had a hole started. If u need to, pick up the egg gently and try not to move it around too much, just see if you can feel the baby moving inside. But make sure to wash hands before and after!

Leave it, helping now will do more harm than good.

It needs to do certain things like get in position for the hatching tooth to break the shell. It also needs to have used up all available oxygen in the air cell before it gets the signal to thrash which causes the external pip.

It can take 24 hours to then absorb the yolk sac, retract the remaining veins and gather strength to begin the zip phase. Looks like nothing is happening on the outside, but there is much going on inside.

Assisting too early can tear a vein and cause the chick to bleed out, the chick could come free of the shell before the yolk sac is absorbed, leaving the chick without it's food source and also providing opportunity for the belly to tear and get infected.

If you want it to have it's best chance of surviving, keep the humidity and temp where it should be and sit on your hands until nature has been exhausted, really, do nothing for the first 24 hours, it can take 48 sometimes.

Ok we'll I've called about 4 different hatcheries an they told me to just unzip for him and let him do the rest.heres what I did..
