How long will my chickens lay eggs????

Just wondering how long (how many years), do hens lay eggs? I have 3 Red Stars and 1 Bantam Cochin that just started laying!!! Thanks in advance

Breeds that are known for laying lay pretty well for 2-3 years, and then it drops off. I've read of 8 year olds still popping out an egg once a week. Some don't add light over the winter in the hopes of adding time to laying years...
