How long will they lay without artificial lighting?

Oh phew I could never raise that many quail lol,I can easliy raise 35 though thank god and that leaves extra room for me to be raisinng some meat quail also yay.

Yeah...just though I would ask a question here rather than start a whole new thread,im getting a observaition incubator for only $55 from strombergs with shipping included and I was thinking I can turn the eggs myself, but there are no egg racks in it so do I just put the eggs in there and roll them around?Or should I buy quail egg trays from GQF and put the eggs in there?

We "Hand turners" call it shake and bake.
If you can maintain a temp around 99.5 deg. F. a humidity level around 45%+/- and turn/shake up a batch of coturnix eggs at least once a day, then you should be fine!
On day 15 stop turning and increase your humidity to 60%+, all the way to 100%, then (Yes Virginia, you can hatch coturnix). You can buy all the turners and racks you want, but my right hand has turned more eggs than any machine.

20 dozen is 20x12 so figure about 240 quail at a minimum? If you want them fertile then gotta keep some roo's... Figure on lots of feed tho lil bub. my 60 jumbos went through a bag of feed every other week...

Divide by 7 since they have a week to lay 240 eggs.
