How long?

How long can an egg go before it is to bad to eat? As in from the time the chicken lays it how long can it stay on the nest before it is bad?

Lots of people don't bring them in till the evening, so all day is OK. Myself, I'm a little egg crazy, so I'm out there 6 times a day seein' what we got. I don't think I would eat one that had been out there for a day or more, but that's just me. They might be ok.
