How long?????

How long can it take for all the eggs to hatch? Momma left the nest with the first chick Monday, moved her, the chick and the remaining 7 eggs to a secluded pen. She resumed sitting, this morning another chick had hatched. The two little ones are in great shape and Momma is still sitting. How long can it take for the remaining eggs?

Was she originally in a pen with other hens? Because if she was, they donated to her cause and the hatch could be staggered for days....

In the circumstances you have quoted I would expect that it could be up to a week from the first to hatch. Momma hen will usually know when there are no more viable chicks,

Momma was in with other girls but I placed eggs from different hens I wanted hatched under her over two days period. None were added after that by the girls.

Eggs still hatch at different rates and I have had eggs hatch up to day 26 under a broody (All eggs day of lay at the start),
