how long

I believe the average is 2 - 3 but many people have them as old as 5.

I lost my first/oldest, most beloved hen last year on her just over 4th birthday around this time. Her sister, that is pushing 5+ years old now is still doing quite well.

I'm not going to lie to you! 4 years old is ancient for a coturnix, but I know people that have kept them for longer than 4-5 years. You may want to start grooming another pet bird, but you may have another 2-3 years to go.

I can't say for sure.

Stella is still alive and kicking! He hatched in the beginning of 2006 so in 2012 he will be 6 years old
