How loud?

How loud do silkie roos crow? I might be able to get some chicks, but as I understand it, you can't sex silkie chicks. Is it loud enough to bother people, do you think? There's an owl outside my window that hoots all day long, would it be louder than him (or her)?

the silkie rooster I used to have crowed more and louder than any of my other roosters. All rooster's crow and its going to be louder than an owl. Think about a dog barking... its more on that level of noise

Hmm. Well we have a dog here that barks all the time (mostly at the other dogs he hears barking in the neighborhood) and to my knowledge there's never been any complaints. It would probably be different if it was a chicken though. Would insulating the coop help or would that just cook my chickens?
