How Many Birds to You take to a show?

I'm going to my first show in about two weeks (as an observer). What should I look for or what questions should I be asking? I hope to show eventually, but for now just want to learn the process.
(I cannot tell you how excited I am that my first show is a SILKIE show!)

I show between 7-10 birds(7 being silkies!) along with my husbands 6. I love show time. I love looking at all the birds and meeting people with the same breeds. I like to see the different things that the judges look for. Can't wait for the first show. We are taking some to our county fair, but we have a show in Inverness, FL in November. I'll really be looking forward to that and then of course the ABA/APA national show in my town of Lake City Florida in January. 3000 birds, 240 exhibitors last years, soooooooo exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Can't wait!!!!!!

ive showed horses and goats both fun kinda miss the goats not the horses but poultry has been my favorite hobby soo far last time i went to a show and actually showed was the county fair not a big deal but i took like 20 birds but that was me and my sister combined! i think our next open show i plan on taking maybe 8 to 10 chickens and 5 or 6 ducks.
