how many birds?

HI all
I am going to order some day old leghorn chicks from a hatchery, and was thinking of getting acouple of meat chicks. As i would only have to pay for the chicks and not postage.
I am only wanting acouple at butcher time,just to see how they go then i might get some more. Just wondering whats a good number to order if i only want 2 or 3 at butcher time?

I would do at least 10.

I would order 4.

And would probably have 4 at butcher time.

I will second the 4. Meat birds aren't very hardy; there's a good chance you'll lose one before processing time. If you don't, invite a friend over to help you process, and send them home with the extra!!
