How many chances do you give a hatchery ?? When is it enough??

You know, I think about ordering online because I would like some EE hens. I was going to wait until Spring, but I don't know if I have the patience.

However, I'm really iffy on shipping chicks!?

There is a lovely hatchery like 1 mile from my house I got my silkies from but all they have right now are silkies, geese, guineas and quail. I would get more silkies from them, but all they have are buff. I would like a black.

Anyways.... I'm glad I read all this, gives me a lot to think about. I personally demand quality, a fair price (and someone not messing with my bank account that feeds my family) and professional attitude.

Any way to slice it, if you are unhappy at all... you should always get a refund or discount and then you move on to somewhere else. Never run the risk of being upset twice. Fool me once...

Glad Foghorn got theirs okay. Our chicks arrived Thrusday and they sent ALL of them together. Five were dead on arrival smushed. One was deformed with curled legs. I have never seen a chick like that it was almost as someone took a curling iron to it. It died later. Sad because it was a very cute bantam with furry legs. The order was to arrive in two shipments. I really need for them to have arrived like they said because my daughter was graduating from college and I had company to deal with... Oh well water under the bridge. But my husband and I both agreed there was just too much that went bad to order from them again. There are too many other hatcheries and/or private breeders to order from to give them another chance. So if you like them great but we do not. I'll try and post pictures of the chicks later.
