How many chickens can I house in my coop and run!

It looks like their butts would hit the rail behind them. I think 18" is recommended for spacing between the top rail and the wall (to keep poop off the walls), then at least a foot between other rails (to keep one from pooping on the one below)....what you have looks tighter than that...maybe just an optical illusion

yes they do. they seem to work good. they pile up at the top together and there is atill space at the bottom.
Mine have plenty of roosting space but they all roost tightly packed in a small area with a good 8 or so feet of empty roost left over.

Sounds just like mine! The roosts are closer together at the bottom than at the top also! I told my husband to put more space between them, and just like any man he told me he was going to do it the way he wanted!

Their tails are resting on the roost above, roost bars are too close together. Some of them seem to be sitting 'backwards', maybe because of that. It'll probably work but I think they'd be more comfortable with more room between bars.

We are gonna build another one and put in there too! Maybe this next one he will listen to me LOL! We are also going to put on outside in the run too! We only have a few more days before we can let them free range again. It's been almost a week since we moved them to this new coop!

lol, my husband did not listen to me either, but I can't complain. He did a good job and the chickens are happy!
