How many chickens can you count??

This is how they sleep, outside, in a giant chicken huddle

im not going to even try to count lol i love how cute that looks though all together do they not have a roost to sleep on?

They are young, about 3-4 months old. Only a few have gotten the hang of roosting

My Grandpa has cattle. He's always been kind of a joker. He's told me all my life that when he goes to check on the cows, he counts the legs and divided by 4. I called him a few months ago when my chicks were moved out to the coop. I said I'm having a hard time counting my chickens. I said I count the legs and divide by 4 and the number never comes out right. He thought that was funny

I know this question is off the subject, buuut what kind of chickens are the grey ones. And can a barred rock be pure black as a pullet?Thanks
