I guess I have 69 (*embarrassed* but I have new chicks!!). So, 47,057 + 69 = 47,136.

*Tries to make it sound like I'm not a chicken hoarder*: I had over 200 more than a year ago. Most of those were chicks, too. But, it was kinda funny/annoying when a woman asked if she could buy eggs, and was rather pushy/ excited and wanted to see my birds, and then was critical about my "free range" flock on my acreage. She shouted there were "laws against things like that!" (Loose chickens, lol. I suppose I should have kept them all in tightly confined quarters for "sanitation".)

She called the health department, who made the obligatory call to me -- apologetically, lol. She reported that my free range flock (about 30 - 35) all had avian flu. That's where the "apologetic" part came in as the woman completely discredited herself. (For anyone who doesn't know, there has never been a case of Avian flu in the US.)

So, here's the "kicker" (I apologize in advance): the woman made the call the same day she bought my beautiful eggs. She died hours later from a heart attack.
