how many chickens do you have ?

I had intended to have no more than 10, lol somehow I have 17 already and will be getting at least 2 possibly 3 in the next couple of days. I did not realize how addictive they are when I got my first chicks.

Last I knew we had around 250, but now I can't be bothered to count. And those are just the chickens!

Boy, I wish I didn't live in the city when it comes to chickens. I would have dozens!

I have about 30 of each breed except in the case of my Buff Orpingtons I just hatched about 50 of those, some of which I will sell at some point. But in my defense me and my husband both had a boat a piece and I sold mine in order to build 8x10 coops and large seperate pens for each breed not quite sure on the size but about 50 feet by 50 feet except my buff pen it was my first and it's larger, I love my chickens and would like to be able to sell some a little later. I wanted pens and coops I could be proud to have people come and see. And plus, Happy Chickens lay Tastier Eggs!!!
My hubby thinks I get a little retarded with my chickens, but he sure likes the eggs!

Started with 6, then the neice and nephew begged and we relented....raising a total of 8....however, now come to find out, one is a roo, Araucana....yippee!

I have a very small flock right now- only 4 chickies, still in the brooder. I am hoping that they are all hens, but I have a feeling my larger, lead RIR is a roo.

Hopefully its just a bossy girl.
If not, I would be willing to trade him for a hen (or two) in the future.

I would love to get a few more chicks, the coop and run we are building seems like it could only hold around 2 more chickens.

6 RIRs, 3 Americanas, and 2 Austerlorps.

Do I need to count the 4 Spitz and 4 more Americanas on the way from Meyers the 2nd of July? DH doesn't know about those yet.

I figure he'll find out when he starts hearing the peeps.
