Hubby built the most awesome BBQ, out've an oil tank!!

Works great, so were having a family BBQ of course..

There will be 11 adults, 2 kids over 10, My 2 kids, good chicken eaters 6 and 4yrs, and then 3 little ones under 2 yrs..

My meat birds that I am cooking will range from 7- 9 pounds

Were also doing pulled pork, potatoe salad, mac salad, corn on the cob, pressed cucumbers, ceaser salad..

For starters in the afternoon I will put out a fruit and veggie platter, for kiddies :) Well and of course whomever else..

How many chickens should I cook? Should I have something else with this BBQ?

Would love to hear your thoughts!!
Thank-you

Was thinking maybe I could do veggie kabobs too, trying to think of make ahead things, so we can all stay outside and enjoy family time..

Thanks for your help, this is our biggest event yet!! lol

I always do 1/4 of a chicken for each person. I wouldn't cook any for the little ones under the age of 2. If they eat chicken at all, they will take bites off their parent's bird.

My rule of thumb is 4 people per chicken. Usually the store fryers are about 5 pounds, maybe a little more. Sounds like you'll have 15 chicken eaters [excluding the under 2 age] BUT you'll also have pulled pork PLUS your chickens are larger than what my rule of thumb is based on.

With the size of your birds plus the pulled pork, I'm thinking 3 chickens should do it.
