How many chickens?

I live in California, and winter never gets below 40ish and summer doesn't get hotter than 100 (and those numbers are rare.) So its always pretty nice. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be able to get more than 8 (for sure) because of property size and neighbors. But I just remeasured and I have 600 sq feet (i found a little more space!) and so I think a bigger coop will be no problem. So right now I am thinking 5x6 + run. And then they will still have more than 500 sq ft not occupied by the run/coop. So I might be able to pull of six hens?

Yay! I will probably only get 5... but its nice to know that if I have too give in to the temptation of 6 its okay. Thanks for your help!
