How many chicks is TO many?!?!

you can never have to meny chickens.unless your town has a limit in the # of hens you can have.or you run out of room to build more an bigger henhouses.

We have just a little over an acre. I really don't call it a farm yet, a zoo maybe

I keep telling my DH that I'm buying twice as many as I need because most were straight run and some of them will be roos. I wanted 4-6 chickens...I now have 17 babies. I know at least 4 of them are pullets because they're golden comets sex-link chicks. I'm pretty sure at least 7 more are pullets too! Our new little coop will hold about 10-12. I live in a neighborhood with snooty neighbors that aren't very nice on about 1/4 care lot ...and altho I have permission from our village to have a few chickens, if they neighbors complain, I may have to get rid of them. So I'm treading very carefully! But I'm getting too many chicks! I'll just give the extras to someone...there's no way we could eat the roos and we can't have them because of those neighbors!

P.S. Oh, and I also have plans to visit our local TS when they get chicks in that they ordered, on April 30th. JUST IN CASE I've lost any by then..ahem!! LOL

Too many? Is there such a thing? Just think of it as living flamboyantly!

and 24 adult chickens. Lol

i have 400acs but most all of that is devoted to cows an hay.an i have enough room for all the chickens i want.

I know I will have to stop after the 20 I ordered show up in May. At least for this year anyhow! My family loves to camp and go the the beach. That will be a little hard if I need to keep watch over babies all of the time.
