How many chicks will you hatch in 2026?

Pics
The PLAN: I just got 10 s.run Buckeyes and 6 s.run Brahmas. I have 5 pullets, 10 roos, and 1 tbd. I'll keep all pullets and 1 Buckeye roo. Sale or freezer camp for the rest in the fall. I plan to hatch one clutch this late summer/early fall as long as one of my broody senior hens cooperates. I'll keep those pullets and harvest the roos in the spring of 27. From then on, I plan to hatch 26 chicks and harvest 26 chickens each spring and each fall.

I ended up with 53 out of 56 viable eggs, the last 3 were fully developed but died in the shell, I think they drowned, they were awful wet when I took them out, even though I did a 100% dry hatch, the humidity was getting up in the 50’s out in the garage?
My humidity usually stays from 30-40%.
But a 94.6% hatch rate isn’t bad, I have had 100% a few times and was shooting for it this time.
The chicks are very healthy and beautiful and I haven’t lost any yet.
My cousin will be picking them up tomorrow, I’m giving all of them to him, his hens are getting old and he needs a new batch, he will butcher the excess cockerels.

I set 31 more guinea eggs today, that makes 61 guinea eggs I have set total, I have space for about 18 chicken eggs and I will set them this weekend.

Oh boy how did I miss this thread XD

Let's see here...

I have 1 muscovy with 14-15 eggs due on April 26th and I just discovered muscovy nest number two so I reckon I'll have another 15(ish) due in May by the time she sets. Which leaves 3 muscovys hens who undoubtedly will go broody sometime soon as well (they're muscovys, I'd be more surprised if they didn't go broody!)

I have no plans to incubate any of my Pekin's eggs this year, we lost our drake due to old age last year so if she lays any eggs they're gonna be muscovy mules.

I'm getting a pair of pilgrim goslings in April (so excited!) so I'm sure 2027 will have geese on the mind but for this year it'll be just my darling goslings. (Can you tell I love them already? I even have names picked out! Snickerdoodle and Chocolate Chip, Snickers and Chip for short :D)

As for chickens... well I have two 56 egg incubators and after doing some funky math I think I can fill them both about 4-5 times each throughout the year (I only figured till August, anything after and I worry about weather) which is... a lot of eggs...

Chicken Math paired with Incubator Algebra? A recipe for a very fluffy year!
Guess who got 48 hatching eggs that definitely were not planned at all!!!

Breeds:
- Silver Phoenix
- Speckled Sussex
- Chocolate Orpingtons
- Lavender Orpingtons

Guess I'm firing up the incubator early 😅

This is my first year hatching and I plan on hatching 80. I have 21 hatched so far and 3 small incubators running right now....it may turn into 200 because it's not even April yet 😂
I'm guessing I'll be in category 2 lol

Its like those math problems in school!
"Sally had 2000 oranges, she sold 36 to Ted. Gary gave Sally 4001 more oranges."

Be careful, it is addicting.
I started hatching last may when I was recovering from cancer surgery, I had to have something to do, I’m fine now, but I’m still hatching eggs.
I did stop during hunting season but I’m back at it again.
