i have a 8x10 coop and 8x20 run how many chicks ( large egg layers) can i expect to house?

Well, allowing for four square feet of space per chicken in the coop, which is the standard, you could house 20 comfortably.

Don't forget the 10 square feet per chicken in the run rule! That allows for 16 chicken if you don't intend to allow them out. If they'll be allowed to free range for at least part of most days use the 4 square feet per chicken in the house rule and go for the 20. If you're not planning on keeping the roos, these numbers are for full grown birds and get extra chicks so you end up with your target number. Remember that even sexed chicks are only about 90%.
