How many days?!

Hi all, just wanted to clarify something. I know it's 21 days gestation but is it 21 days from the date they were put into incubation or inclusive of this date? Was going to make sure I was off work

The day of the week you put in incubator is same day of week, 3 weeks later, they should be hatching. It will run into other days, like could start hatching day 20 into day 21 or start the 21st day going into day 22. Temperature effects what day hatch is so a little off from 99.5 F will make it wee early or wee late.

To recap; a day has not completed until 24 hours later. 21 days is 3 weeks. So same day of week and time that you put in incubator three weeks later is 21 days. If you set on Saturday they should hatch on a Saturday.

The day you set them is day 0 unless you set them very early in the day, since what matters is how many hours of incubation. Plus hatching takes time, usually over a couple days. Day 20-23 is not unreasonable to have eggs hatch out during.

Ive only done a few hatches but all of mine hatched on the 21st like they were supposed to. just set them in the morning for a better chance of you being awake and off work.

22 24 hour periods from time you set them they will start hatching
Because of day 0
