How many did you do today?

we worked until 5:15 at the office then i picked up stuff for dinner at meijer and then we picked up mulch for the aviary.....it’s too wet to turn but we spread 20 bags of fresh mulch and I emptied the feed waste pan cleaned it and the quail houses in addition to normal afternoon feeding and brooder cleaning!! finally sat down a couple minutes ago while waiting on late dinner......have to launder the work clothes but will hopefully get a few push-ups and squats in before bedtime!......it’s looking like i will hit my 12k steps today though

@R2elk I know this is a HORRIBLE picture (tried to zoom in) but do you know what bird this might be??? I will try to Google it. I saw it on my walk today. Small freshwater pond. But near a marsh and woods too but I’ve only ever seen him in the pond. Never seen him before until the last couple of times I’ve been.

Thank you!! That does look similar to it and it says they are around here! Interesting.

Can they be blueish? This picture makes it look more green but when it flew it looked kind of blueish grey to me. Although the pictures that I saw just now of the adult Green Herons look like that too.

It’s such a cool bird!!! Won’t let me get close enough for good pictures though.

I saw (and/or heard) tons of other birds today too though on my walk because I went on a super long one and it included a couple ponds and a marsh/field/wooded type area.

There were sooooo many flying around and singing their little hearts out.

Didn’t get any pictures of them though.

I saw a little bright yellow one - maybe an Oriole or Finch?? Saw a pretty big-ish black one too with a white stripe on each wing and it perched on/grasped the reeds.

I’m not getting a dog anytime soon lol

I’m just saying I think it would help.

That said, this entire area is perfect for a dog.

I just went for like an hour and a half walk and didn’t even have to drive anywhere. Straight from my door. Most of it could have been off leash and/or running and swimming too.

Don't do it. I'll run over the dog with a lawn mower.

I might! I like taking pictures.

But that said, I really do like my phone camera. It’s just not that great on zooming but that’s okay.

What I really should do is finally set up and use my real camera.
